by Tegwen Gwenhwyfar (Summer Student) and Shelby Smith
Are you the kind of person that can’t imagine a better afternoon than cozied up beside a cat? Well, today is a day to celebrate our furry friends: today (August 8th) is International Cat Day! 🐈
Canadian folk artist, Maud Lewis, was also a cat-lover. From early childhood and throughout her life, Maud Lewis adored cats. In fact, cats were the subject of several of her beloved paintings, as they were one of her favourite things to paint.
We are excited to offer a variety merchandise featuring Maud’s cherished cats in the Douglas Family Art Centre’s gift shop to help you show off your love of cats! The Muse is open 10am – 5pm, seven days a week until the end of August.
