Instructor: Kris Goold of Fragile Glass Studio
Join Kris Goold of Fragile Glass Studio at the Douglas Family Art Centre for an evening of creating on April 25th from 5:30-9:30pm. Using enamel paints which are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, Kris will lead you through the process of decorating a porcelain platter with a beautiful fish motif.
These platters are high-fired porcelain, meaning they are very durable and won’t easily chip or crack. Once the enamel has been applied, participants will carve away at the enamel using a sgraffito technique to create intricate details and patterns. After the class, the platters will be fired in the kiln to reveal the vivid colours of the enamel. The platters will be available for pick up at the Douglas Family Art Centre the following day.
Due to the length of this class, participants are encouraged to bring appetizers or dinner for this evening workshop. The class will be held in the Gail Konantz Studio, but participants will have access to the Multipurpose Room with a microwave, oven, stove-top, and refrigerator.
Registration and payment are required to reserve you space in the class, and can be completed in-person or online.
