Witch/Wizard Hat in Oil Pastel (Adult/Teen 14+)

In this workshop, participants aged 14+ will be guided through the process of drawing a witch or wizard hat with oil pastels.  The drawing will be done on a coloured piece of paper, and we will discuss how using a non-white “ground” can change and even enhance the results of your final artwork.  Artists will choose from a selection of hat shapes from sample images, or come up with their own, adding their choice of decorations to personalize their design.  Attendees will learn a variety of oil pastel mark-making and layering techniques, and will be provided with a hand-out summarizing the techniques take home.  Participants will also leave with their finished drawing.

This workshop takes place Thursday, October 26th from 6-8pm at the Douglas Family Art Centre.  It is intended for beginner to intermediate artists, although experienced artists are also welcome to attend.
