Instructor: Susan Bulman
In this 3-hour session taking place on Saturday, February 17th from 1-4pm, local artist Susan Bulman will introduce participants to the medium of watercolour. This is the second of two watercolour sessions Susan will be offering in January and February, which can be taken together or separately. The first session takes place on January 20th from 1-4pm.
A reference photo can be brought to this class or a number of options will be provided. If you are not comfortable drawing, stencils or stamps can be used. If you are interested collage can also be used to create your image. You can create something realistic or abstract.
The group will discuss the basic rules of composition and the importance of values and then do some more practise using techniques you would like to use in your painting. Beginning with any resist methods you want to use you will then build up the image starting with the lightest colours in your palette. Different ways to do clouds, trees, grasses, water, highlights, etc. will also be discussed as a group or individually.
