Nakatamaakewin is Coming to The Muse September 9th & 10th!

by Shelby Smith

Celebrating the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s (WAG) world class collection of Inuit art at Qaumajuq, this mobile exhibition offers an exciting selection of original prints, textiles, stone sculptures, and audiovisual stories shared by Inuit voices, that will allow visitors of all ages to experience a greater understanding of Inuit art and culture, the land, and its people. And the best part… the WAG is bringing the art to you!
Thanks to support from Manitoba 150 this year, this unique and fully accessible mobile exhibition is travelling across Manitoba from May through September 2022 to bring an inspiring collection of Inuit art directly to your community and schools!
By special request, the exhibition is dipping into Northwestern Ontario with a visit to Kenora on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10 and will be set up outside the Douglas Family Art Centre on Main Street South. This exhibition is fully accessible and free for all to attend.

We have limited time slots for school visits on Friday, September 9 so please phone the Douglas Family Art Centre at (807) 467-2201 to book your time. In addition, WAG staff will be on site to lead students through an Activity Booklet.
