Welcome to the Muse 2024 Summer Speaker Series taking place on Sunday afternoons at the Lake of the Woods Museum at 2:00 pm.
This session Bears, Blackflies, and Bush: German POWs in the Lake of the Woods Region During the Second World War compliments the material presented in the Museum’s current exhibition: Temporary Enemies, Permanent Friends: Prisoners of war on Lake of the Woods. This session will be delivered virtually.
Dr. Michael O’Hagan is a historian researching German POWs in Canada during the Second World War. He completed his PhD in History at Western University in London, Ontario in 2020 and his dissertation focused on the employment of German POWs in labour projects scattered across Canada. He now lives in Prince George, BC, and continues to publish his research at www.powsincanada.ca.
