Opening Reception for Modern Explorer: Randolph Parker

Join us at the Douglas Family Art Centre to celebrate the opening of Modern Explorer: Randolph Parker.

For decades, Randolph Parker has been exploring the islands of Lake of the Woods alongside his friend and art dealer Bill Mayberry, but the last five years of have been dedicated to an exceptional project: creating site-specific “portraits of islands” that capture the rugged beauty of the region. Each painting in the series is identified with its own Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinate, allowing and encouraging other modern explorers to venture out to find these locations.

Artist Randolph Parker, art dealer Bill Mayberry, and lake historian David Malaher will be in attendance and speaking about this exceptional project.

Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free, though donations are encouraged. All are welcome to attend.
