Opening Reception & Book Signing for Rita Winkler’s My Art, My World

Join us for this special opening reception and book signing for My Art, My World: Rita Winkler at the Douglas Family Art Centre from 4-6pm.

The exhibition features 25 colourful watercolour paintings by Rita, a young woman living with Down syndrome. Meet the artist, her mother Helen, and her uncle Mark.

The trio have also collaborated on a children’s book, My Art, My World, recently published by Second Story Press. It tells the story of Rita’s day-to-day life through her art and offers a message of inclusion. Copies of the book can be purchased from Shop the Muse for $19.95 plus tax and you can get your copy signed by the authors!

All are welcome to attend and admission is free, though donations are encouraged.  Light refreshments will be served.
