Fish on a Platter with Kris Goold

September 23, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$60

Instructor: Kris Goold of Fragile Glass Studio

Join Kris Goold of Fragile Glass Studio at the Douglas Family Art Centre for an evening of creating.  Using enamel paints which are food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, Kris will lead you through the process of decorating a porcelain platter.  These platters are high-fired porcelain, meaning they are very durable and won’t easily chip or crack.  Once the enamel has been applied, participants will carve away at the enamel using a sgraffito technique to create intricate details and patterns.  After the class, the platters will be fired in the kiln to reveal the vivid colours of the enamel.  The platters will be available for pick up at the Douglas Family Art Centre the following day.

Participants are encouraged to bring appetizers or dinner for this evening workshop.  The class will be held in the Studio, but participants will have access to the Multipurpose Room with a microwave, oven, stove-top, and refrigerator.

Registration is required and you can register by contacting the Douglas Family Art Centre at (807) 467-2201 or emailing [email protected]. Payment will be required to confirm your registration and can be taken in person or over the phone. The cost to register is $60 +HST for non-members or $55 +HST for MUSE members. Limited to 8 participants. Participants will be required to wear masks and socially distance during the class.  All materials are supplied.

Register early to avoid disappointment.
