Art for Lunch: The Death of Virginia

Join us at the Art Centre as our curator, Sophie Lavoie, tells the story of this painting from the Lake of the Woods Museum collection. This painting previously hung in the Kenricia Hotel before making its way into the Museum collection. Through recent research, we were able to identify the subject of this painting, although its prominence remains a bit of a mystery. Delve into the history of this painting, modelled after the classic painting “Death of Viriginia” by Italian artist, Francis De Mura in the 18th century.
The talk will begin at 12:15pm and finish at approximately 12:45pm, leaving you time to get back to the office!
