Presenter: Sophie Lavoie

Join curator, Sophie Lavoie, for this instalment of Art for Lunch focusing on Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis.   Lewis’s work celebrates the beauty of her rural Nova Scotia.  Despite a life of great hardship she chose to see the joy around her and paint the world she knew with the bursting heart of a happy child.  Such is her legacy.  Bright, colourful paintings in all seasons of fishing boats, blooming flowers, horse pulled sleighs and carriages, fluffy cats, and working oxen, capturing forever, a cherished moment in time.

The talk will begin at 12:15pm and finish at approximately 12:45pm.

Admission is by donation.  To reserve a space, please call 467-2201 or email [email protected].  We will do our best to accommodate walk-ins.
