“One of the Final Days of the Thistle Hockey Rink.” From the CJ Dusang Collection.

Before they named the newly built Thistle Rink in the 1920s there were many names in the running. Some where great! some were… interesting…

Some of the choices in the running were—
The Zenith Rink
The Kenora Iceum
The Magnet Rink
The Peoples Rink
The Victory Rink
The Coliseum
The Spinx Rink
The Sanctuary
The Alhambra
The Phonatique Rink
The Citizens Rink
The Lake of the Woods Rink
The Wonderland Rink
The Prince of Wales Rink
& The Empire Rink

Based on the choices, the Thistle Rink was a great one!
